*Prices vary depending on the species, breed and where in Canada you live. Policy premiums are calculated based on Canadian veterinary fees. Wellness coverage; $350 for cats and $450 for dogs that can be used for annual exams and vaccinations, annual bloodwork, flea control, preventative heartworm medication and more.

 

What we cover

Generally, if your pet has an accident or gets sick, your policy will cover the following according to the plan you've selected:

80% of your vet bill including the exam fees and taxes 

Alternative treatments such as acupuncture or massage 

Emergency care and hospitalization 

Dental coverage – cost of annual cleanings or problems with the teeth or gums 

Accidents or illnesses 

Medications 

Surgeries 

Medical devices 

Diagnostics 

X-rays 

Behavioral therapy 

Boarding/kennel fees 

Lost pet advertising 

Holiday cancellation 

Cremation/burial costs and an in-memoriam donation 

Secure 4 includes wellness coverage that can be used for routine care (vaccines, annual check-ups, etc.)

 

What we don’t cover

We believe in full transparency and that you should know exactly what you’re getting (and not getting) when you sign up for a Petsecure policy.

Food and special diets 

Optional treatments you choose to carry out yourself 

Spay or neuter surgery 

Pregnancy and whelping 

Alternative medications that don’t have a drug identification number (DIN) or natural health product (NHP) number

Any condition where signs or symptoms were showing before the policy started or before the end of the waiting periods
