Meghan's Story

“Many moons ago, I was working at a clinic, and I had the pleasure of meeting the most enchanting Devon Rex cat. Over the course of the next five years or so, I looked to rescue a Devon of my own, but as they were a fairly rare breed, I came up short.

Eventually I decided to do a large amount of research and find myself a reputable breeder. I had a list of exactly what I was looking for: females, numerous selection of colours, health tested, well socialized parents, and lineage. The breeders I had researched and reached out to didn’t have any litters, and weren’t expecting to have any kittens anytime soon. One response I got, all the way from Colorado, also didn’t have what I was looking for, but after emailing back and forth for a few weeks, they sent me a picture of a male kitten. While he was from healthy parents and a good breeder, I wasn’t looking for a male.

Keep in mind, by this point I had seen my fair share of cute kitten pictures. But this picture just captured my heart. I knew then and there that this kitten was meant for me and I for him. I drove down to Colorado and back to pick him up. I wanted to pick a name that suited the journey we’d been on together, so I named him ‘Kismet’, and the rest, as they say, is history.”
