Sayda

Sayda was having a typical evening at home and had just finished her dinner. She is always generally playful but
knowing she was a rescue and was susceptible to bloat I tried my best to make her lay still after eating. Sayda had other plans and decided to roll around the house with her favorite toy, and within minutes I knew something was seriously wrong.

Working in the veterinary industry I knew the symptoms of bloat and by the second puddle of vomit, I began monitoring her very closely. She proceeded to dry heave and seemed awfully uncomfortable, so I knew then it was time to head to C.A.R.E. Centre Animal Hospital. As soon as we arrived at C.A.R.E., Sayda was showing severe signs of bloat and was rushed to the back to get set up for surgery.

Ten minutes later, I was asked to sign the estimated cost for her surgery and care, which at the time was between $4,200 - $6,400 depending on many variables. I lived on my own at the time and savings was not an option, so I immediately called Petsecure - crying and panicked to find out my best options. I was told about the direct billing option and was explained all the details. I was given the peace of mind that allowed me to focus my attention on Sayda and not worry about the cost for now.

Two and a half hours later, I checked on my groggy and recovering Sayda. She had made it through surgery and herveterinarian expected a full recovery. She needed to stay at C.A.R.E for several days and so I left her in the excellent hands of the C.A.R.E. staff. Though I went home that night worried for Sayda, I was not worried about how I was going to pay the bill. I knew Petsecure would be there to help!

Sayda came home the next day but not before I called Petsecure to set up the direct billing. I spent no more than 5minutes on the line. They dealt directly with the doctors and the staff at C.A.R.E.

Weeks later C.A.R.E received their cheque from Petsecure for the cost and I received the small bill for the amount that hadn’t been covered, which was only $300 dollars.

Thank you to Petsecure for allowing me to focus my energy on Sayda in her time of need and not stress about the overwhelming bill. Your kindness, support, and easy processes made our lives MUCH easier. Sayda is now home, and made a full recovery!
