Petsecure looked after my Katy for years and they were here for the end of Maggy’s life.

Today, I took Maggy to the vet as I had been seeing clear signs of canine dementia for the past month. To our sorrow, we found that her insides were breaking down and nothing could be done anymore and so, 2 hours ago, Maggy fell sleep for the last time. Nine months was too short to have her in my life and I’ve been balling my eyes out since . Both my husband and father have said the same thing, that I gave her the happiest 9 months she ever had in her life. So here is Maggy’s life story...
Nine months ago I was looking for a dog at a local SPCA, when I saw a dog walk through who broke my heart. I had never seen a dog so skinny, no hair, scars and teeth missing. She was a sad, sad, sad dog. They told me that she had been found at a puppy farm and as far as they knew, she’d been tied up in a garage for over 10 years giving birth over and over and over again. No one had wanted her where she was rescued. No one wanted her here. And that’s when I said, “ I do! I’ll bring her home with me!” How on earth could I walk away from this sad, soon to be put down, dog who had known nothing but being hurt.
Well, I brought her home on December 11th, 2010. Both my father and my husband thought that I’d lost my mind. The photo of Maggy here was taken in April of this year. Look at her. Nothing could be so far from when I first saw her. She jumped into our hearts and she’s been there ever since. She grew to love people again, picked up weight, found that rolling around on grass was the greatest thing ever!
Maggy fell asleep for the last time at my father’s knee - her favourite walking partner. They used to go for two hour walks together. She had a very happy last 9 months of her life and dogs, as we all know, live in the moment.
Petsecure looked after my Katy for years and they were here for the end of Maggy’s life. Thanks for listening to Maggys’ story and please, open your heart to rescues. They touch our hearts in the best way.
