Maybe its because we're the longest established, or because we have a team of dedicated veterinary professionals ourselves to support and work with our supporting practices across the country.

Or perhaps its because we also have a Veterinary Advisory Board made up of highly reputable and well known Veterinarians to represent each region of Canada.

What we do know for certain is, that across Canada, thousands of veterinarians, animal health technicians, and professional veterinary staff recommend Petsecure pet health insurance to their pet parents each and every day. And that many of them also choose Petsecure pet health insurance for their own pets - and their own peace of mind. They can attest that with Petsecure, you'll not only be better able to afford to pay the costs of veterinary care, but also that they'll be better empowered to provide your pet with the best and most advanced veterinary care possible - not just what you can afford at the given time.

Here's what Veterinarians have told us about Petsecure....

Dr. Irene O'Brien - Scottsdale Veterinary Hospital

"Everybody has an idea that it's not going to happen to them."

Everybody has an idea that it's not going to happen to them. That their animal is not going to be the one that gets sick and unfortunately things can happen very quickly - an animal is hit by a car or a cat eats a toy or a piece of string or something that needs to have surgery, a lot of times people will go into debt to have procedures done and it comes down to having to make a really desperate decision for the pet because of finances.

I like Petsecure because it's easy for the clients to understand and what their coverage is and how it works. I mean we've had puppies break their arms falling 6 inches because they're excited, so just because your pet lives totally indoors, it doesn't mean that something bad couldn't happen. The best thing to do is to start them when they're young and healthy and then everything that develops is going to be covered by your policy.

Dr. Stacy Chartrand - Vancouver Animal Emergency Clinic

"....Having pet insurance available to people allows them to do more for their pets."

A lot of times, people have a hard time with the emergency bills because there tends to be higher prices associated with the emergency care after hours than there are in regular practices. When folks have pet insurance, there's no hesitation to go ahead and treat their dogs basically because the funds are available for the people to go ahead with the treatment. Plus I think that every time people end up with a problem with their pets and they've had pet insurance I don't think there's ever been somebody that I've spoken with that's said, "Oh God, that didn't help at all". They've always been very thankful that they've had it. There's a lot of different ways of doing medicine and having pet insurance available to people allows them to do more for their pets.

Thankfully some of the puppies that we see on emergency don't have serious emergencies and we can treat them and they can go home right away. And often it's at that point that people recognize the merits of pet health insurance. We broached the subject of "Oh do you have pet health insurance?" and they say "No, I don't... Yet". It gives them piece of mind that throughout their life, they're going to be responsible pet owners.

Dr. Eliot Kaplan, Tri-Lake Animal Hospital, Winfield, BC

"Pet insurance makes my job a whole lot easier."

"We recommend pet health insurance to all of our clients. Our new clients receive pet insurance brochures in their ‘pet packs’ and we strongly recommend it to every pet owner with a new puppy or kitten. Currently, less than 5% of our clients have pet health insurance and I’d like to see this number move towards 25% or greater. Pet insurance makes my job a whole lot easier. When my clients have their pets enrolled on a plan I’m able to focus more on doing the best for their pets with less emphasis on financial concerns."
